La Cana was born from a conviction: prison should not mark the end of a story. We work to ensure that women who are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated, as well as their children, have access to opportunities that allow them to rebuild their life projects. We do this through training, dignified work, mental health care, and a community that supports them before, during, and after prison. We believe that true social reintegration begins when there are real opportunities to build a future away from violence and crime. Our vision is to transform prisons into spaces of opportunity and contribute to a safer Mexico, where all people have the chance to start anew.
